Following the Senate passing their budget resolution, New American Economy issued the following statement:
“We applaud the Senate’s passage of a budget resolution that includes a path to citizenship for millions of immigrant workers and families,” said Jeremy Robbins, Executive Director of New American Economy. “Dreamers, TPS holders, farmworkers, and essential workers are not only long-standing members of our communities, they are crucial to our continued fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and our recovery from the economic recession. We urge Congress to support a path to citizenship for these immigrants as part of the reconciliation process.
