New American Economy Statement on the Introduction of the Let Immigrants Kickstart Employment (LIKE) Act

Press Releases

Published: July 26, 2021

Following Rep. Zoe Lofgren’s (D-CA) introduction of a new bill, New American Economy issued the following statement:

“Immigrants are more likely to start a business than the rest of the population, making them essential job creators and a crucial piece of a successful U.S. economy,” said Executive Director of New American Economy Jeremy Robbins. “Yet we have no visa for entrepreneurs to come and start a business here. Rep. Lofgren’s LIKE Act solves that problem and not a moment too soon as we work towards an economic recovery from COVID-19. We endorse this legislation and strongly encourage Congress to pass it into law this year.”
